2009 Rodeo!

We celebrated Valentine's Day with the whole family by going to the Rodeo. The carnival was Amelia's favorite and the petting area, pig races and bull was Elliott's favorite. The kids had a great time and we had a great time watching them enjoy themselves. They were wiped out by the end of the day.

Amelia lost her 1st tooth!

Amelia is officially a big kid now. She lost her first baby tooth on Valentine's Day. It was the first baby tooth she got and the first tooth she lost. It has been loose for about 3 weeks now and was ready to come out but we were afraid to pull it. My Aunt Mary Helen came over and said to tie dental floss around it and pull it out. Since she has experience doing this we asked her to do it. Amelia was all for it, she was ready for the tooth fairy to come. She even put on her princess dress for the occasion. She just flinched when it came out and did not cry. When my Aunt pulled on it the tooth came flying out and we could not find it. I started to panic. We were all on our hands and knees looking for it and after about 5 minutes Amelia found it.

She is such a brave strong girl! The tooth fairy came and brought her 5 $1 bills for it. This was a Valentine's Day we will always remember!

Amelia the Fish

Amelia has been attending swimming lessons on a regular basis since she was 3 years old. Right now she attends Swim America through Northside School District. These lessons will prepare her to be on swim team in a couple of years in addition to and most importantly developing her into a strong swimmer. This is very important to us since we love the water and have a pool. They have a standard bathing suit and swim cap they have to wear but in true Amelia style she adds her own flare with her goggles.

Amelia has become a very good swimmer. She can free style swim, backstroke, swim under water using the "frogger" technique and is working on her breast stroke. She really loves to swim and we are very proud of her progress!

Amelia is 5!

My Baby Girl is 5! I cannot believe it. Saying that fills me with so much joy, pride and a little sadness because she is growing up. A part of me wishes I could freeze time, but I know I can't. Since it's her birthday I think that gives me the right to brag about her just a little so here I go....
We could not be more proud of the young little lady Amelia is becoming. She is a very kind, loving, empathetic, honest, smart and confident girl that will tell you exactly what is on her mind. She loves life just like any happy child should. In the past year her accomplishments are that she has learned to read and write very well, she is a great swimmer and can swim freestyle, under water and the backstroke. Her favorite things to do are to play with her Brother and any and all kids, talk on the phone to her Grandma Rosie and Nana, draw, read and imaginary play with her many toys. Oh yeah, she also has a loose tooth (her very 1st baby tooth)!

She can be challenging at times but what can I say, that's the way we made her. She is a great Big Sister, Daughter, Granddaughter, Cousin and Friend.

Amelia is a great girl because of all the wonderful people in her life that are helping to raise her, set a great example for her and shower her with love. Thank you to all of our family and friends that are raising her along with us.

Amelia, your Mommy and Daddy love you more then words can say. You have brought more joy into our lives then we could ever imagine. Thank you for the wonderful, kind, loving person that you are today and the person you will become.

Amelia's Birthday Party at Pump It Up

Amelia is blessed to have so many friends and people that love her that we could not fit everyone into one birthday party, so we had to have two parties. On her actual birthday, January 24th we had her party at Pump it Up. All of our friends and family came to celebrate and the kids had a blast.
Amelia designed every detail of her birthday cake. She jumped up on the counter at the bakery and told the lady that she wanted light pink frosting w/purple around the edges, her name in hot pink, a red butterfly and Little Mermaid on her cake. When we went to go and pick up the cake she saw a display of candles and decided she needed a #5 candle and a Power Puff Girls candle. Amelia's cake was a perfect reflection of her personality and I LOVED it!

The kids all had a blast and the adults looked like they enjoyed themselves also. Everyone got a good work out running around, jumping and sliding down all the inflatables. It was great to share Amelia's birthday with so many wonderful people.

I was not able to get a picture of every friend that came because most of the kids (especially the boys) did not stay in one place long enough for me to get a picture. If you got any good ones that I missed send them my way and I will post them. Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!

Amelia's Birthday Party at McDonald's

We celebrated Amelia's birthday with 2 parties. The first one was during the week after school at McDonald's with all of her classmates. Amelia is a part of a great class. Every child is as sweet as can be and they are all great friends (which I am sure you can see by the pictures).
Thanks to all her CHUMS friends for making her 5th Birthday so memorable!

Cute Pictures of the kids

These are just some cute pictures of the kids I wanted to share. Elliott is becoming such a little man. He picks his own shoes and loves his spider man hat. He definitely has Frank's sense of style! He is talking a lot now, likes to draw and play guitar. He's an all around mini Frank.
