2 Days at Landa Park

February 20, 2010 was the first really nice day we have had in awhile. We were on our way to run errands and Frank had the great idea to go to Landa Park in New Braunfels, TX instead. The kids loved it there. We went on a nature walked and walk all around the park and enjoyed the beautiful day.
We had so much fun that we decided to go the next day and invited Grandma Rosie and Grandpa to join us. This time we took fish nets and the kids went craw fishing.
It was a very special weekend. We enjoyed a a beautiful day and the company and love of our family.

Happy 6th Birthday Amelia

Amelia had a Great 6th Birthday. She had her party at Aerial Athletics and there were 35 kids there! They all ran around and had a great time jumping in the foam pit, jumping on the trampoline, moon bounce, and playing with each other.

Amelia is so blessed to have so many friends and family that love her so much and came out to celebrate her special day with her.

The end of the party was her favorite part because she became a human pinata and was bounced up and down so high. She loved it but Mommy wanted to pass out! Happy 6th Birthday Amelia! We love you!

Baby Cakes Quijano

I have heard that you don't pick your pets, your pets pick you... Well we got first hand experience with that one. We were leaving a friends party and stopped at Pet Smart to get some hamster food and right as we walked in we saw stray cats for adoption. Amelia spotted a grey kitten and it was love at first sight. The kitty was too little to adopt that day but it was going to be ready to adopt on January 23rd just one day before Amelia's birthday. We had to drag Amelia out of the store and all she talked about was the kitty for the rest of the night. So after hours of begging her Daddy we decided to adopt the kitty for Amelia's birthday. She was the happiest little birthday girl you could imagine.
Baby Cakes Quijano is the newest addition to our family. We could not have found a better cat. She is very mild manner and loving. She even let's Amelia wrap her up like a baby and push her around in a toy stroller. Elliott is her worst nightmare at the moment but he is getting better. Amelia is a great Mommy and takes very good care of Baby Cakes.

Email from Amelia's Kindergarten Teacher

Ms. Padilla is Amelia's Kindergarten teacher and sent me the email below today. Reading it makes me so proud of the wonderful girl that Amelia is. I am posting this because it is very special and I want to hold onto it forever.

Hi Danae',I hope you guys had a great Christmas and a very happy New Year! Amelia shared with me that Santa brought her the pink IPOD she had been wanting. How exciting! :-)

I just wanted to share a cute story! Today we began a unit on living/nonliving things and we were beginning to review what things we need to live. One student raised her hand and said, "air," another, "water," and Amelia got super excited and raised her hand so I called on her and she yelled out, "LOVE!" :-) I just thought it was the sweetest response!

Also, we got a new student today who is going through a tough time and Amelia was great with her! She was a wonderful helper and I think the girls will probably grow to be good friends. Amelia helped make this new little girl feel extremely welcomed. You and Frank should be very proud of the sweet, independent, and intelligent daughter you are raising.

Sincerely,
Katy

Merry Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 was the best Christmas to date. On Christmas Eve Frank's family came to our house to have dinner and open presents then we ended the night at Frank's Uncle Eddie's house. It was a lot of fun but the kids were anxious to get home and go to bed so Santa would come. All the way home Amelia and Elliott were on the look out for Santa's sleigh.

Christmas morning Amelia woke up and tried to run to the tree but we made her wait for Elliott so everyone could go together. Santa brought them both what they asked for. Amelia got a hot pink ipod and Elliott got Spike the Dinosaur. The kids stayed in their pajamas all day long and played for 12 hours straight. Nana and Aunt Brenda and Uncle Ralph came over for lunch and Uncle Eric and Aunt Kristina and Cousins Daniel and Noah came over to play. Grandma Rosie and Grandpa stopped by in the evening to visit also.
Amelia loved her ipod and bug maker the best. She made bug after bug. Elliott wore out the battery of his Spike Dinosaur and played and played with his hot wheels. They both loved the Smart Sports game Grandma Rosie and Grandpa got them.

The best part of the day was when Amelia and Elliott put Baby Jesus in the manger and wished him a Happy Birthday. They both understand that Christmas is the celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. It was a wonderful Christmas filled with the love of our family. We look forward to many more like this one.

Elliott's Favorite Things

Now that Elliott is growing up he is forming his own opinions and developing his own taste. I have to say that some of these tastes are influenced by his Daddy. Frank introduces him to things and Elliott decides if he likes them. Right Now Elliott's favorite toys are his Dinosaurs. He is collecting Imaginext Dinosaurs and we found a website with Dinosaur gear and he was sure to tell us what he wanted. He picked his shoes, hat, lunch box and back pack. At first I just ordered the shoes and when they came in he said, "Where is my hat and backpack?" As you can see from the pictures he got them.

The Hulk is Elliott's favorite super hero right now. He loves to wear his Hulk mask and hands out in public because he thinks he is scaring people. He asked his Grandma Rosie to take him to Toys R Us and buy the mask and hands for him and sure enough she did.

Elliott loves to rock out with his friends when they come over to play. That's his Daddy's influence. He also loves to watch Thundarr the Barbarian and old Godzilla movies with Amelia and Daddy. He is really turning into an interesting little boy!
