That's my Boy!!

I just had to post these pictures of Elliott. This is Elliott in a nutshell. He LOVES to mess around and make us all laugh. He is a real jokester! Of course his Sister loves to egg him on. We have so much fun with him. His favorite things to do are: act silly and make us laugh, JUMP, play the guitar and listen to Daddy play the guitar, dance with his "happy" feet and throw things. He is a handful and I can't take my eyes off of him for one second but I would not have him any other way!

2008 CHUMS Christmas Party

Amelia's Pre-K4 Goldfish class had their Christmas Party on December 19, 2008. They ate, made reindeer food, had a book exchange and gave their teacher Mrs. Ginn a gift. Mrs. Ginn is a WONDERFUL teacher and all the kids are so good in her class. There is not a bad apple in the bunch! I volunteered to help with the party, and what can I say, teachers are not paid nearly enough. It was a lot of fun!

Christmas Recital

On December 13, 2008 Amelia performed at the Market Square. She danced a Veracruz dance to "La Bamba". This was a new dance for her and she did very good. She likes all the gold and accessories that goes with the Veracruz outfit. Just when I think we might take a break from dance to play soccer she performs and loves it and doesn't want to stop. So here is to another year of dance!!

Amelia's good friends Sean, Sanjana and Sedarth came to see her dance. She was very excited to see them there. A lot of our family came as well: Grandma Rosie, Nana, Uncle Eric, Cousin Daniel, Aunt Lala, Cousin Delia & Natalie, Aunt Challa, Aunt Brenda and Ralph. Amelia is so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family that love and support her! It really means the world to her!

It's Been a Hard Day's Night

This is a story I have to remember to tell the kids when they are teenagers and giving me a hard time.... It's starts at 9pm Wednesday, December 17, 2008...We bought small toys for Amelia class, flowers for the girls and hot wheels for the boys. Amelia insisted on picking the cars for each boy. At 9pm she realizes she forgot one little boy. So I decide that I will just wake up extra early to stop at Wal-mart before work to buy one more hot wheel car. I don't want to go after work because I have to go home to: cook, spend time with kids, bath kids, spend time with Frank and make cupcakes for the class party on Friday!

Moving on..Elliott has had a little cold and at 12:30am wakes up coughing almost like a choke and can't stop. I wake and begin to gather the nose spray and suctioner when I ram my pinkie toe right into the door frame. Man it hurt! So I am up until 4am with Elliott and a throbbing pinkie toe. The alarm goes off at 6am and I get up, get ready and limp myself through Wal-mart for 1 hot wheel car then go to work. I am pretty sure my pinkie toe is broken but from what I know they don't do anything for it but tape it.

I am sitting here thinking about all the mistakes I have made as a Mommy and feel that since I am at work on 2 hours sleep w/a broken pinkie toe and 1 hot wheel car purchased from Wal-mart at 7am all my mistakes should be forgiven! What's really scary about all this is that I feel and am functioning just fine on 2 hours of sleep!

2008 Christmas Pictures

Amelia and Elliott had their yearly pictures with Santa taken. At first Elliott did not want to get anywhere near Santa so we took pictures with them on a bench and Santa snuck up behind them. Once Elliott saw Santa was behind him he was outta there.

Amelia made sure to tell Santa exactly what she wanted for Christmas, a Princess Cash Register and a Dora Horse. Once Elliott saw that sister was talking to Santa he decided to join them.

Be on the look out for your picture and your Christmas card. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

2008 Christmas Party

I have said it before and I will say it again...Our friends have the BEST parties ever!! Our friends Karen, Matt and Nathan have an annual Christmas party and it is a blast. Santa kicks off the party by greeting each child at the door to make sure he knows what they want for Christmas (Amelia talked Santa's ear off and Elliott would not go near him). There is a great spread of food with everything you can imagine to eat and drink. The kids love all the fun things to do and play on! They had a big play scape with swings, monkey bars and slide, a mound of sand, arts and crafts, and the coolest inflatable obstacle course you could imagine. The kids ran wild and had a blast and so did we. After the party Amelia and Elliott took a 2 hour nap which was nice because I got to nap too!

We are so thankful for the wonderful friends and family that we have to share the Holiday season with. Thank you Karen, Matt and Nathan, we love you!

Amelia's Thanksgiving Program

Amelia's school put on their Thanksgiving Program this week. Amelia was an Indian and sang a song and performed an Indian dance. She did really well and remembered all the songs and steps of the dance. Elliott almost ruined the whole performance by yelling "Thister" (his version of Sister) repeatedly and trying to run on the stage. He had to be removed from the chapel. O-well, that's what little brothers are for, right?

We were very proud of Amelia and all the other kids at CHUMS. The teachers did a great job of working with them and putting on a GREAT performance.

Catherine's Princess Party

Catherine turned 4 and had an all girls Princess Party (No boys allowed!). It was great fun with Princess games food and cake. As you can see all the girls had a GREAT time. Amelia decided she would be Ariel the Mermaid. All the girls represented the Princesses well except when Amelia decided to have a burping contest with Princess Belle. O-well, I guess she is a Princess in training.

Amelia and Catherine are great friends and have celebrated every birthday together. We look forward to celebrating all of our birthdays together. Happy Birthday Catherine! We love you!

Happy Halloween-2008!

The Quijano's LOVE Halloween! We had a great time as always. Frank's Aunt Cilia had a party at her house and we all had a great time getting dressed up, trick or treating, playing games and dancing.

I had our family costumes all planned out but Amelia had other ideas. I wanted the boys to be Mariachi's and the girls to be Spanish dancers. Amelia was OK with the idea but then she decided she wanted to be Tinker Bell. One day when she was with her Grandma Rosie she asked Grandma Rosie to take her to Target and what do you know, they had Tinker Bell Costumes and she came home with one! We compromised and she was Tinker Bell at her school parade and a Spanish Dancer on Halloween night. She also decided to be a ghost for a few minutes on Halloween which was easy enough to do. So much for family theme costumes. At least I can get away with planning Elliott's costumes for another 2 years.

Elliott was the cutest Mariachi you have ever seen! Grandma Rosie was Lucy, Grandpa was a Scarecrow, Aunt Bonnie was Katrina, Uncle Eddie was a sick looking old guy and Uncle Eric and Cousin Daniel were Pirates. There were so many great costumes I can't show them all.

Amelia had her school Halloween parade on October 30th and all the kids looked so good in their costumes. It was a great Halloween this year we look forward to next year!

Amelia's Dance at St. Paul's Festival

Amelia danced at the St. Paul's Festival on October 5, 2008. She is doing really well with her dancing and smiles and looks at the crowd when she dances now (She used to turn her head and look away when she danced).
Her friends Diego and Sebastian came to see her perform and had a great time watching her dance. She has a Christmas performance coming up that we are looking forward to because it will be new costumes and dances.
